Fanwu Liuxing, from the Bamboo slips of Chu, Collected in Shanghai Museum (7), edited by Ma Chengyuan, has two versions. Version A is relatively complete, while version B is slightly defective. We can acquire a full article after collating these two versions. Since the publication of the illustrated edition and the annotation of Fanwu Liuxing in 2008, the academia has made in-depth and comprehensive studies of the book and achieved many fruitful results. But there still exist many problems. They are to be seen in the following:wide and conflicting differences in the decoding of the characters; lacking systematical analyses and integrated study; This article made a comprehensive and systematical study of the characters in Fanwu Liuxing on the base of the existing annotations. It also provided relevant theory bases for those properly decoded annotations or put forward new opinions by decoding some characters once more. Existing annotations and effective methods of decoding ancient characters are taken into consideration when writing. Characters in Warring States and Chu Characters, especially characters in Bamboo slips are studied laterally and integratedly. The author's writing and diction habits are also paid enough attention so as to decode ancient characters and translate the book accurately.
