The Traditional Chinese Auspicious Patterns Of The Modernity Of Conversion In Mural Design

This paper analyzed the aesthetic and emotional features of the Chinese traditional auspicious patterns, and tried to find out the foothold of them in the modern fresco design. Through various modern transformations, which makes the Chinese traditional auspicious patterns could keep pace with the modern art, the aesthetic and emotional features of the Chinese traditional auspicious patterns could permeate the modern fresco design. In this way, people's levels of appreciation and re-perception of the essence of our traditional culture could be improved.There has been a long history of the Chinese traditional auspicious patterns. Because of their unique Chinese features, these patterns are wildly loved by the Chinese people. The different forms of the modern fresco design, which are highly decorative and educational, have also been wildly accepted and loved. The traditional auspicious patterns could not represent their own charm and profound traditional culture in the modern fresco design unless transform themselves. No matter they are morphological or semantic, all the transformations could bring the aesthetic value and culture awareness to the frescoes. Based on the correct understanding of the spiritual essence of the traditional auspicious patterns, the outstanding cultual achievements of our own nationality could be absorbed. In this way, with the style of the modern fresco design and the modern aesthetic principles as the premises, morphological and semantic modern transformations could help making more excellent frescoes.This paper first explained the meaning of the Chinese traditional auspicious patterns, and explored the reasons of these patterns'formation and their basic develop process. Based on the investigations of the humanities spirit of the traditional auspicious patterns, this paper further discussed the cultural awareness, the aesthetic value, the psychological implication and compensation of the traditional auspicious patterns.This paper then analyzed the necessity of the transformation of the traditional auspicious patterns in the modern fresco design, espeically in the representation of the theme and in the architecture space and the structure of the fresco.In the third part, this paper first analyed some transformations, like simplification and the maintenance, the construction and the restructuring. Then, as the traditional auspicious patterns advocate the meaning, the paper further analyzed their original meaning and their morphological transformation.At last, this paper discussed the semantic transformations of the traditional auspicious patterns in the fresco design. By exploring of the traditional auspicious patterns'transformations and their applications, such as representation (which is applied by its form), abstract (which is applied by its meaning), image (which is applied by its nature or profound meaning), this paper further noted that the space and structure both benefit from the transformations. Besides, these transformations construct a better imaginary space for people to integrate the auspicious meaning and wonderful morphology.
