Comparative Study Of Chinese Traditional Auspicious Patterns And Modern Logo Design

As the important carrier of information communication in modern society, the development of logo design has been brought to the attention of the people, the development of modern logo is forging ahead with the development of the society. The closely intertwined of different national culture is gradually fade out the differences between each other in today’s increasingly accelerate economic globalization environment, people have been noticed from the similar style logo design. In recent years, throughout the international development trend of logo design, the phenomenon of national elements integrated into logo design is more and more. This kind of logo which has a unique national culture style not only gives people a new and fresh feeling in numerous logo design, but also easy to arouse the public’s national culture psychology.The development of Chinese logo design is obvious to the world, many excellent designers and design works have been emerged in this field. However, compared with some relatively mature developed countries in the field of logo design, we have to admit that Chinese logo design is still in a stage of development of the road that forming own strong ethnic characteristics. There is still a lack of cultural phenomenon in the field of Chinese logo design. We still have a lot of work to do for developing logo design with Chinese characteristics. But as one of the four ancient civilizations, China has a long history and profound culture, also has traditional graphic art which collected the deep cultural thoughts, it provides extremely rich design resources to the modern logo design.This papers selected traditional auspicious patterns of Chinese traditional graphic art and the modern logo design to do a comparative study. I explore the international development trend of modern logo design from the angle of development of modern graphic design after narrating the motivation of this thesis and the significance of comparative study and research method of this papers, which leads to the comparative study about cultural and artistic features levels, then analyse the similarities and differences between them, sum up comparative conclusions, aimed at providing certain reference value for modern logo design for how to reasonable use of traditional auspicious patterns under today’s era background.Based on local culture, and actively learn the experience from developed countries of logo design, reasonably combine the Chinese national excellent culture resource and modem design elements. This is not only the development of Chinese modern logo design, but also the inheritance of Chinese traditional auspicious patterns, it will benefit to promote the development of Chinese nation. I am full of confidence with the development of Chinese modern logo design in the future.
