A Study Of Disease Names And Nomen Propriums Of The Ancient Medical Books From MaWangDui

In December 1973, a great number of silk books and bamboo slips were found in MaWangDui, Changsha, Hunan province. This is a very important discovery to Chinese archaeology. Because they were written down more than thousand years ago, and most of them has never been seen before. They are taken seriouly since they had been found. There materials are about 120 thousand words in all, and included 50 kinds of ancient books. They relate to ancient ideology, history, military affairs, geography and medical science.The arrange group of the silk books from ancient tombs of Han Dynasty in MaWangDui classificated these books and published them in for volumes. All of the medical books are in the fourth volume and the arrange group of the silk books from ancient tombs of Han Dynasty in MaWangDui named them all:The Eleven Meridian of Arms and Legs,The Eleven Meridian of Yinyang, The Way of Meridian, The Death Meridian of Yinyang, The Fifty-two Therapies, The Health Promotion Therapies, The Mixed Secret Therapies, Baby Breeding, Sustenance, The Picture of Daoyin, The Ten Questions, The Mix of Yinyang, The Mixed Forbidden Therapies, and The Talk about ZhiDao in the World.Because of their importance, The Ancient Medical Books from MaWangDui had been studied thoroughly for many years. This thesis is going to pick out 41 nomen propriums and 5 disease names which were still need to be discussed and then study them more deeply. I hope this thesis could become a useful addition to the whole study.
