Based on the analysis of relevant domestic and overseas literature of general self-efficacy and coping style, this research combines an investigative questionnaire, psychological scales, semi-structured interviews, in order to explore the special group of people, farmers-turned migrant workers. It is intended to study the general situation and the relationship between general self-efficacy and coping styles. The further purpose of the study is to help farmers-turned migrant workers overcome frustration and challenges successfully, via professional analysis, and to raise efficient suggestions to keep them healthy and harmony mentally. The entire dissertation is made up of three parts:the first part is the review of literature, the second part is the main study, and the third part is the results and advice.Part One, the related researches of farmers-turned migrant workers are briefly reviewed, while the literature of general self-efficacy and coping styles are generally introduced as well. It is especially elaborated the purpose and the significance of this research.Part Two, it combines qualitative and quantitative researches. The questionnaire is structured, getting the general information of 109 farmers-turned migrant workers,via short interviews and related data of farmers-turned migrant workers. General information of general self-efficacy and coping styles are obtained via this questionnaire. Two psychological scales are used to analyze the levels of general self-efficacy and coping style respectively. Based on the information of levels, variation analysis are made respectively among general related variations and self-efficacy, and coping styles, and then the related-regression analysis.Part Three, it summarizes the results of this dissertation. It is found that:(1) The total level of farmers-turned migrant workers'general self-efficacy is much lower than the ones at average level. There are some significant differences between gender, education background and occupation. (2) The total level of farmers-turned migrant workers'coping styles are lower than the ones at average level, especially the level of the negative coping style is much lower. And the positive coping style have significant differences between education background, marital status and occupation, while the negative style between gender,education background, marital status and occupation. (3) The positive coping style have significant correlation with general self-efficacy, and general self-efficacy and marital status relate positively to it. While gender relate negatively to the negative coping style. Meanwhile, the study provide professional advices for farmers-turned migrant workers, the related departments of government and organizations and the society. The meaning of advices is not only to help farmers-turned migrant workers overcome frustration and challenges successfully, and to then to keep them healthy and harmony mentally, but also to draw more concerns on them when policies are made by related departments and organizations,further on behalf of the stability and harmony of the whole society and communities.
