This study mainly examines the CCTV Spring Festival Gala in 1984-2010 in the image of farmers and migrant workers with representation theory. From personality traits point of view, farmers are honest and kind, and migrant workers are honest, hard-working, and kind-hearted. However, non-farmers or non-migrant workers are mostly kind and honest, while a few are some snobbery. Overall, the most images being reproduced are positive characters, such as honest, kind and so on. Negative characters, such as vulgar and dull, are represented less. More farmers and migrant workers are presented as actors and clowns, while non-farmers and non-migrant workers acted as donors. The relations between these two groups are emphasis as helping and being helped, giving and being gave.The most important finding of this study is to farmers and migrant workers on the meaning of the images.
