Samuel M.Zwemer And Missionary Work Among Chinese Moslems

Exchange and dialogue between religions had been there since the religion appeared, as far as Christian and Islam in China, from Christian carried out to work among moslems now on, the two had much more interaction than before.Missionary work among moslems in China was not only the need of the strategies of evangelization of the whole world, but it promoted dialogues between them objectively. So as to highlight the topic of religion diologues, the article start from the individual cases and select Samuel M. Zwemer who was activing in the stage of missionary work among moslems as my research, through the ralationship betweem Zwemer and China to perform the topics of meeting and diologue of that two religions.The artical is generally divided into six parts. Introduction elaborates the origin of selection of the subject and the research methods, and briefly reviews the research of predecessors; The second part briefly introduces Zwemer, especially his specialities as a leader of missionary work among moslems; The third part introduces two important missionary conference-1906 Cairo Conference and 1911 Lucknow Conference. The two conference promoted Christian career of working among moslems. Zwemer plays an important role in these two conferences; The fourth part introduces Zewemer and The Moslem World. This part introduces the layout structure of The Moslem World, reflects Zwemer's thoughts by analysing of his articles publishing on the The Moslem World, and embodies his great contribution to the missionary work among moslems; The fifth part shows missionary work among China by analysing articles publishing on The Moslem World relating to China, meanwhile, we can see China's Moslem in the eyes of The Christian missionaries from these articles; The sixth part introduces Zwemer's two investigates in China in 1917 and 1933, Zwemer's investigates in China play great guiding and encouraging role in missionary work among China.Through digging the original literature and combing Zwemer and the relationship between he and the missionary work among moslems, the article try to put Zwemer into the interaction between Christian and Islam in China. The article can not reappear the whole history of interaction of the two religions, but it still look at something through a bamboo tube.
