On The Directing Art Of Hasichaolu's Movies

Since Inner Mongolia Movie Studio was founded in 1958,a number of outstanding directors have emerged, along with their fine works. As a Mongolian director, HaSiChaoLu, has directed some films with a Mongolian Chinese theme, modern times. His works have attracted extensive attentions of movie industry to win both domestic and international prize.His films reflect a marked pursuit of humanistic spirit with ethnic and modern subjects, making him distinct among the contemporary young directors of Inner Mongolia. This paper is to analyze and interpret the movies of HaSiChaoLu systematically, with reference to previous studies. It includes four parts:the first mainly analyzes six movies as samples regarding the features of his movie language; the second analyzes the movies in terms of aesthetics; the third discusses both objective and subjective factors in the formation of his style; the fourth compares HaSiChaoLu with such Chinese contemporary directors as Mai Lisi, NingCai, JiaZhangke, WangXiaoshuai, WangQuanan, a transversal analysis of the relationship between style and personality,with some comments on artistic values under the present situation.
