The Study On The Structure Of "V Qi O Lai"

The structure of"V qi O lai"is not only a high frequency form,but also a controversial form in Mandarin.It has its own synatic and semantic features.There is only one article clearly study on the form"V qi O lai",the Guo Jun (2010).But he just made a multiple perspectives study on the form"V qi O lai"in Mandarin,and didn't describe the historical evolution of this form.The produce of this form,and its synatic and semantic festures worth further discussion.Base on the previous studies,this article attempts to make a more detailed description and inspection of this form.There are five parts in this thesis.Chapterâ… :The preface gives the significance of the topic ,the background,the problem and the method adopt mainly of our research.Chapterâ…¡:From the synchronic point of view,we describe and analysis the syntax,semantics and pragmatics of"V qi O lai".We believe that the main syntactic function of"V qi O lai"is as a predicate,and it has three main semantic features.In addition, we attempt to prove that some"V qi O lai"has evolved into a topic in Mandarin.As a topic,it can change the subject in the chapters or connecte the context.Chapterâ…¢: We apply the theory of grammaticalization to research the evolution way of"V qi O lai"from diachronic angle,and try to research its fomation and grammaticalization path.We believe its evolution way meet the four stage of development in Mandarin.The structure"V qi O lai"began in the Song Dynasty,started grammaticalization in the Yuan Dynasty,and went into assuming conditional in the Ming Dynasty.Qing Dynasty,it has emerged as a topic.In addition,the prototype of"V qi O lai"as a topic is that the verbs in"V qi O lai"emerged speech verbs."qi lai"is the topic marker.Chapterâ…£: We discuss something related"V qi O lai",such as the compare of"V qi O lai"and"V O qi lai"and"V qi lai O".Also,we analysis the reasons for the domince of"V qi O lai"in Mandarin,and try to prove that the speech verbs is a important reason for"V qi O lai"becomes a topic.We hope these studies will help us to understand the development of"V qi O lai"better.Chapterâ…¤: Summarizing the conclusions of this paper, such as the formation,development and the feature of"V qi O lai",and put forward the lack of writing and further study.
