The Research Of Definition Words In Chinese Learners' Dictionary

As Chinese learners'dictionary is becoming widely used in teaching Chinese as a second language, researches in Chinese learners'dictionary getting more value. As a part of definition, words which in the definition is very important, studies on these words is quite necessary. This article take"Learner's Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese"as reference, using the combination methods of the qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis to analyze the types and characteristics of definition words.The forword part introduce the reason and significance of this article, summarize the comliling situation and carry on the correlation research summary, then it introduce the content and research method of this article. Then first chapter make comparative research on functions, users, terms, definitions and examples with ordinary Chinese national language dictionary, analyze characteristics of Chinese learners'dictionary. The second chapter count all words in definiton, including quantity and summarize each level. Take out definition words which is familiar in the dictionary, analyze their part of speech and each level. The third chapter classify these words then pick up multivocal words. Analyze each meaning of these words in definition based on quantitative analysis. The forth chapter summarize characteristics of definition words, trying to bring forword the characteristics and principles of words in definition in Chinese learners'dictionary compilation, to provide consultations of Chinese learners'dictionary compilation and Chinese teaching. The last chapter is inclusion, it mainly summarize this research and talk about how to improve it in the future.
