A Study On The Frequency Adverbs In The Contemporary Chinese Dictionary

The Contemporary Chinese Dictionary has become the most authoritative modern Chinese dictionary, and has gotten much attention in the academic circle. Scholars have been doing research on it from the angle of compiling, collecting words, interpretation of words and so on. This thesis selects the46frequency adverbs which are collected in the fifth edition Modern Chinese Dictionary as the research object. It carries an overall and systematic research from the classifying, interpreting and setting examples of the frequency adverbs in the Contemporary Chinese Dictionary. I'm trying to summarize some rules and putting in some of my opinions. I'm also hoping that I can propose some reference ideas for the compiling of the Chinese language dictionaries and the modifying of the Contemporary Chinese Dictionary.This thesis has three parts. The first part is the introduction part, in which generally introduces the study status and achievements of the frequency adverbs in modern Chinese and the compiling of the Contemporary Chinese Dictionary, and also points out the writing purpose and meaning. The second part is the main part and it has three chapters. The first chapter is mainly to define the frequency adverb, determine primarily the46frequency adverbs and classify them. In this chapter, I also provide my different opinions on the compiling of the46frequency adverbs. The second chapter is mainly to do research on the interpreting of the frequency adverbs in the Contemporary Chinese Dictionary. In this chapter, I descript the explanation ways which called synonyms type, explanation type and comprehensive type of the interpreting of the frequency adverbs. And I also try to study on the basic status of the frequency adverbs and the different meaning of an adverb and analysis the influence of interpreting. In the third chapter, I try to study on the setting examples to the frequency adverbs from the way of example types and influence. The last part of this thesis is the conclusive part. It summarizes the whole article.
