Based on the author's orchestral work-Spirits of the Mountain, this thesis is focused to recapture the mental experience in the author's creation of the work from the viewpoint of a music composer, and attempts to redefine the gain and loss of the work through rational reflection and summarization of Spirits of the Mountain.This thesis is comprised of two chapters:In the first chapter, the author presents a review of the context in which the work was created, and illustrates the theme significances of the music. Also, the theme transformation and development process, as well as the analysis of work structure and features are presented. Meanwhile, the work shows specifically the creation source and theory proof of music rhythm control, arrangement of volume, and distribution of tones, giving evidence to the integration process and result between rational theory and emotional expressions.In the second chapter, the author presents us the new exploration and practices Spirits of the Mountain adopts by tracing to the source of five-tone tune and identification and analysis of the traditional Chinese five-tone tunes.
