Sun Zhi wei(1620—1687), whose poetry achievement was well affirmed at his time, was a prolific poet among the surviving group living between Ming and Qing Dynasties. Literary circle of early Qing was under the leadership of Wang Shizhen, and he thought high of the Tang culture, his excellent work on poems was also supporting his theory of shenyun and fadu. All of that was pretty admired and popular in the circle at that time. Meantime, Sun had his own way of creating, even appreciated by Wang. And Sun's poems were expressing his mind of under an unstable-society with his simple words. His working style also represented the surviving poets'appearance. He proposed writing about inside feelings, focused on words'choosing, insisted that the given, learning and knowledge were of vital importance to the poetry writing. At the same time, Sun's poems paid much attention to presenting the reality, which was also the general manner of the poets around him.The following is trying to sort Sun's poetry, and discus his theory of creating. To provide some relative direction on the research of the poetry in the early Qing, the following has a description of Sun's life and the environment, and is trying to analysis the spirit of"expressing inside feelings","with no making up","be of special style". This paper is made of 6 chapters. Preface is an over view of Sun's works, confirming his position in the early Qing poetry circle.Chapter One is introducing Sun's living tales, travelling and the specific society. Chapter Two is summarizing Sun's theory of creating through sorts of documents and comments from Gai Tang Ji. Chapter Three is all about his poetry, four kinds of formation help us maintain his theory of concerning about people, writing about deep inside. Chapter Four gets some art characteristics of Sun's creatures. Finally, Sun's whole-life achievement, his literary position and his influence are abstracted, and the value of the research on his work is stated as well.
