The Research And Teaching Practice On The Expiration And Inspiration In SHENG Performance

Expiration and inspiration are basic technique of Sheng playing and the important performance means of music. Therefore, they must be taken into account by all Sheng players. In this paper, based on the playing and teaching experiences, some breathing control and using methods were introduced from basic breathing principles of Sheng playing, a certain breathing skill named vibrato was explained in detail, and the relationship between playing skills and expressive verve was discussed. At the same time, some training methods of basic breathing ability were introduced, and the teaching method about increasing the ability of combining playing skills and expressive verve. At last, by explaining three passages, some main points of breathing were focused on, and then the experience of describing musical image and expressing emotion by using breathing skills correctly and neatly was analyzed.
