With the aging process in China, the aging problem of old people has receiving more and more attention in the whole society. There has been a lot of research concerning the music therapy for the elderly at home and abroad, most of which has focused on the emotional disorders of the elderly and the results of music therapy intervention to the old people. The elderly suffer from problems of their physical conditions, and their physical and mental health issues are getting more and more attention from relevant government departments. We believe that physical and mental health of senior citizens is closely related to their subjective well-being in later years. Whether the elderly is happy or not is an important factor in establishing a people-centered and harmonious society.Subjective well-being can be used as a social indicator used to measure the standard of living. In this study, based on the combination of the former music therapy, psychology and sociology theories choose The Fifth of social welfare in Beijing as the experimental group of 15 elderly subjects for Four-month music therapy group intervention. The specific use of clinical trials, interviews and observation methods to study the use of Memorial University of Newfoundland Scale of Happiness and Index of Well-Being, Index of General Affect to measure. Through qualitative and quantitative analysis, the following conclusions:1 Most of the welfare of the elderly at the normal level of subjective well-being. Participate in group music therapy intervention in the elderly than SWB group did not receive music therapy intervention in the elderly. In this study, there are the experimental groups compared with the control group, for group design, scale tests show that scores of SWB in the control group have no significant difference within four months.2 Meanwhile, the elderly in Welfare house for group music therapy, their scores of SWB have improved significantly. Through clinical trials in the experimental group were measured before and after the test itself were found by group music therapy intervention, subjects were significantly improved subjective well-being. Interviews and observation of experimental design is also good to support this conclusion.
