At present, there are a lot of works about the research into Chinese imperial examination system in the historian field. However, the research that involves the group of Jinshi whose hometown was in Northeast China is relatively less. The reason is that people always hold an idea that Northeast region locates in the frontier of China. Therefore, that people in Northeast China living with less culture was caused by the mobile population in Qing Dynasty, due to the restraint of environmental and social factors. Consequently, it is one of the significant ways to carry forward the culture of Northeast by researching into the bibliography of Jinshi whose hometown was in Northeast China.The thesis takes the 506 jinshi whose hometown was in Northeast China as research object, and affirms their contribution to bibliography through collecting their personal treatises, their contribution to official documents as well as their compilation to the predecessors and peers'works . It is from the creative perspective of Jinshi's bibliographical achievements that the paper researches to expatriate the development of the Northeast culture and the Northeast-originated Jinshi's contribution in the field of academics and culture.The thesis is divided into four parts:The first part introduces general condition of Jinshi whose hometown was in the Northeast in Qing Dynasty. It affirms the development of culture and education in the Northeast through making critical comments on the cultural environment of the Northeast in Qing Dynasty. According to development of education, the paper sorts out the total number and the dynastic distribution of Northeast-originated Jinshi in Qing Dynasty after gathering and researching into the Northeast chorography, which is mainly based on The Almanac of Fengtian, Collection of Epigraphy, Epigraphy of Jinshi in Ming and Qing Dynasty, and Collection of Examination Paper Written in Red in Qing Dynasty.The second part expounds Northeast-originated Jinshi's contribution to the official document. As senior intellectuals, some Jinshi devoted to the work of compilation and arrangement to the ancient records in the imperial court; some took the official position in the province or returned home to organize the compilation of chorography actively and to promote the development of chorography in Qing Dynasty so that they provided valuable resources for modern chorographical research.The third part expatriates the Northeast-originated Jinshi's achievements to compile and sort out personal bibliography. As literati, a lot of Jinshi were known for their works, scattering in the collections or chorographical records of others, or in the form of personal bibliography. All of these works reflected the social situation in certain period, no matter which form they took. As the saying goes, like knows like, some Jinshi not only wrote themselves but also sorted out the books of their predecessors and peers so as to hand down to generations; some collected books so as to keep a lot of rare versions of works for the later generations.The fourth part concludes the Northeast-originated Jinshi's contributions to bibliography in general and gives a positive comment on the academic value of their works. On one hand, these books preserve the valuable historical resources and enlarge the range of bibliographical research, so that they provide available referential resources to the development of history, literature and even some natural sciences. On the other hand, comprehensively summarizes the successful groups, affirming its contribution philology writings academic value. On the one hand, the writings of these Jinshi were the significant embodiment of the progress of Northeast culture in Qing Dynasty.
