Before modern times, the western region of Northeast China was the world of the Mongolian people.Once, the nomadic was the fundamental to the Mongolian survival. They were accustomed to constantly migrating with the seasons’ change, chasing the pasture and water. In history, the Mongolia people and the Han people generally took the the Great Wall as the boundary. The farming culture and the the nomadic culture had coexisted for a long time.Although the nomadic and farming had obviously difference in connotation, they were not totally exclusive relationship, because they were complementary to each other. So the relationship between the Mongolian people and the Han people were always in a constant exchange collision. However, the rulers of the early Qing Dynasty in order to better rule, isolated the relationship of the Mongolian people and the Han people. The Government of Qing implemented the prohibition policy to the Mongolian land. The Mongolian people were fixed in a certain area. The Han people were forbidden into the Mongolian land.So the economic and cultural exchanges between the the Mongolian people and the Han people were banned. However, this mandatory national barriers policy did not be maintained for too long.Starting from the middle Qing Dynasty, there some Han people went to the Mongolian land to cultivate the land and plant crops. In modern times, the Han People were more like the tide flooded into Mongolia, then they brought the ways of production and life styles of the Han people to the Mongolian people living place.Influenced by these factors, the nomadic mode of production ofMongolia people in northeast China had changed.More and more Mongolian people gave up the nomadic to engage in agriculture. Also there were some people who adhered the animal husbandry for a living, but they had gradually improved the herding ways.Since material decided consciousness and economic basis determined overtop structure, the changes of the nomadic mode of production had a great impact on social life. The coexistence of the agriculture and the animal husbandry, made the diet structure of Mongolian people more diversified, their living arrangement from migration to settlement. And their clothing, marriage customs and languages also had some changes. From matter to consciousness, from production to life, the nomadic culture of the Mongolian people had comprehensively changed.
