Through the review of history and culture of minority nationality in Xinjiang and on-site inspection of the folk art, ethnic folk art is possessed of distinctive ethnic features and deep cultural connotation through accumulation of history and culture, and it is an important and indispensable component of ethnic cultural inheritance and development, a distinctive manifestation of culture of minority nationality in Xinjiang, and a valuable cultural resource of college education. Ethnic folk art should become one of important curriculum resources of college art education promoting the development of regional culture and local culture in Xinjiang. But it is not given more importance and attention as the art curriculum of higher normal colleges in reality. The content of art education curriculum in higher normal colleges is not well linked up the content of curriculum in primary and secondary schools. Especially it is not given enough importance of the study of ethnic culture and the train of the awareness of ethnic culture during the art education in the region of minority nationality. Based on the above understanding, the paper is to arouse the people to pay more attention to the education of ethnic folk art and the research and development of the curriculum resources of folk art. Consequently, it strengthens the development and use of resources of folk art.The thesis mainly consists of three parts: the importance of ethnic folk art in the education of art, the value and significance of resources of ethnic folk art in the art education of higher normal colleges, and the development of resources of ethnic folk art and using in the art education of higher normal colleges in Xinjiang. To achieve the aims, resolve the problems, the research applies the combination of documentation and field survey data, and uses the theory of education, culture, and folklore to finish the analysis of the thesis. The perspective is explored through grasping the essence of the research of the significance about the education of ethnic folk art of existing papers and documentation. Taking full advantage of the cultural value of resources of ethnic art to conduct the research of art education and teaching in higher normal colleges in Xinjiang, applying the excellent resources of the ethnic folk art to the education curriculum of higher normal colleges, folk culture is get more inheritance and development,The education of higher normal colleges is well adapted to the curriculum reform of primary and secondary schools, the content of art education curriculum in higher normal colleges is well linked up the content of curriculum in primary and secondary schools, and it can cultivate excellent teaching staff for basic education. Promoting resources convention of ethnic culture to art curriculum, making students understand art in culture climate, widely used the culture resources of ethnic culture to train the awareness of ethnic culture of students, increasing the cultural agreement among various ethnic groups, making for promoting the diversification development of ethnic culture. At the same time, promoting education of ethnic folk art in the region of minority nationality is also a supplement of through the use of resources of ethnic art to realize the education of ethnic cultural education. Therefore, in the education of art, promoting the attention of ethnic folk art is not only increasing the cultural qualities, but also plays a positive and important role of helping students understand ethnic culture and promoting spiritual realm, artistic quality and aesthetic ability. Moreover, it promotes national integration and national unity among them. Through analyzing similarities, differences and aesthetic characteristics not only has the aesthetic significance of the general education, but also promotes centripetal force and cohesion of various nationalities, it is an integral part of conducting patriotic education.Especially it has important practical role of developing socialist ethnic relations, promoting the common prosperity of all ethnic groups, accelerating our country's modernization.
