Bilingual-teaching originated in the 19th century. In china, it started in 1990s. From 1950s to nowadays, teaching in Chinese in the minority areas extensively carried out among college minority students in Xinjiang is an important component of ethnic education. In the new century, all kinds of schools began to carry out bilingual-teaching. In order to improve the quality of national education and to enhance the overall quality of minority students, colleges vigorously carried out the reform of personnel training mode and comprehensively advanced the bilingual-teaching in the curricula. Therefore, bilingual-teaching takes on a prosperous flourish in Xinjiang.High-level normal schools are important institutions to train bilingual-teaching teachers, studying the problems of bilingual-teaching in those schools and exploring the countermeasures is meaningful for improving the quality of teacher training and bilingual teaching and promoting the healthy development of Bilingual Education in Xinjiang.Applying Documentary research methods, interviews, observation, and work analysis method etc, by researching two ethnic normal colleges in the Uygur-populated areas in south Tianshan, Kashikar Teachers College and Hotan Teachers College, through quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis, under the guidance of the Theory of Bilingual Education, Sociology of Education and National Education Theory, this thesis displays the current situation of bilingual-teaching in history courses in ethnic normal colleges in south Tianshan, reveals the existing problems and causes of bilingual-teaching in history courses on conceptual understanding, teachers, teaching materials, students and teaching evaluation in ethnic normal colleges, and demonstrates the effectiveness of bilingual-teaching in history courses in those schools. In addition, this thesis proposes many effective measures, such as updating concepts and increasing awareness, strengthening teacher-training, choosing and compiling good teaching materials, improving the training quality of Minority Students and establishing and improving mechanisms for Bilingual Education Evaluation etc. to improve to bilingual-teaching quality in ethnic normal colleges in Xinjiang, promote the healthy development of bilingual-teaching in history courses quickly(?)and culture excellent bilingual teachers, which in turn can better serve the community and provide suggestions for the bilingual-teaching in basic education in Xinjiang.
