This essay intends to probe into the forming cause and developing process of legend of Liu Bowen under the theoretical instructions of forkloristics,anthropology of literature,storiology,narratolog,historie.The essay is divided into four parts,of which the first chapter is the analysis of the large quantities of rescripts given to Liu Bowen by the emperor Zhu Yuanzhang,through which conclusion can be gotten that the initiator of apotheosis of Liu Bowen is Zhu Yuanzhang, which was thought to be the source of the legend.In Chapter two,the motives of the descendents of Liu Bowen to let Huang Bosheng write biographies for Liu Bowen and print the anthology for him to get the conclusion that the descendents of Liu Bowen take these special measures to meet the current political conditions in order to protect their family ,which in turn propel the apotheosis process of Liu Bowen objectively,creating the foundation of three motifs of legend of life,the master of language,marvelous chief strategist.After the middle of Ming Dynasty,the descendents of Liu Bowen began to set up the temples for their ancestors with the permission of the emperor out of different purposes,which pushed Liu Bowen up to the faltar,and this saying mixed up the legends of Liu Bowen.In Chapter three,the author analyze the development of the legend in the novels and drama in Ming Qing dynasty by the men of letters of that time,it is thought that only through the deduction of the literal works such as The biographies of the heroes in Ming Dynasty The addition to the biographies did make the imagine of Liu Bowen more complete,typical,well-developed and popular.The deduction of the literator enriches the legend and provides a way for the folk people to know Liu Bowen.The chapter is the development of the legend.In chapter four,the oral creation of the folk will be discussed.It is thought that the oral creation of the folk can be divided into two categories:the development and the deploitation of the former motifs and new-derived motifs based on the former motifs.In the process of the development of the Bowen's legend,the folk people played the most important role and functioned the key factor of the transformation of Bowen from person to god,making themselves the solid foundation of the developing legend of Liu Bowen.
