A Preliminary Discussion On The Multiple Expression Of DV Image And Its Realistic Significance In Contemporary China

As the most typical expression of digital image, DV image has some prominent characteristics , such as multiplity, openness and personalization. The multiple expression of DV image has broken through the previous situation that image media is mutually independent and incompatible, just like movies and TV. It can be seen as subversion and challenge to traditional image and bold attempt and actively explore for digital image production.Based on the development status of DV image in contemporary China, this paper put together the technological revolution, variation of ideas and concrete practice of DV image, discussing about documentary expression, utilitarian expression, artistic expression, folk expression and vanguard expression, attempting to show the multiplity of DV image.In the introduction of this paper, the general situation of domestic DV image, some conceptions of DV image and academic achievements of DV image has been discussed. Through the introduction, we can come to the conclusion that the current researches of DV image have obvious boundary of style. Actually, DV image is just an multiple, open expression, and it can be seen in documentaries, movies, TV, original plays and experimental short films, even sometimes DV image means breakout and innovation. In this sense, we should do some research about the multiply expression of DV image to restore the true situation of DV's practice and explore on digital image, so that we can review the tide of DV image all-sidedly and dialectically.In the main body of this paper, documentary expression of DV image has been discussed firstly. DV image has sharpened the polarization between two generations of independent documentary.Compared to the independent documentary principles of New Documentary Movement, DV independent documentary has different creative ideas and viewing angles, and Inheritance is to coexist with breakout. In the next part, this paper discusses the utilitarian expression of DV image through grafting it onto TV consumerism, involving TV program of documentary, TV channel of DV, TV citizen program. It also points out that DV and TV should be in a most balanced juncture. In the third part, this paper discusses the artistic expression of DV image, drawing a conclusion that DV has created a era of amateur movies, meanwhile, fulfilled the wishes of Zhangke Jia and The Post-Sixth Generation. In the fourth part, folk expression of DV image has been discussed. The paper firstly analyses the influence of the tide of folk image causing by DV, and then takes an example of campus DV to show the visual spectacle of DV self-made play. In the last part of the main body, the paper talks about the vanguard expression of DV image, and mainly explores all kinds of possibilities of DV short experimental film through showing the representative figures and their works.In addition, the paper points out that in the current dissemination pattern centering on the Internet, we should be fully aware of the important role of DV image in diffusing cultural, emancipating the mind and changing social thoughts, and then promote the tide of digital image.
