The New Trend Of World Communications And The Loss Of Opportunity For China To Communicate With The World On Its Own Initiative:1760-1840

Nowadays the world becomes unlimited. All nation-states contact with each other, consolidate and develop their communication. It is becoming as a whole. And Western historians has been researched the question since 1970s. They have published a lot of classics such as A Global History / The Abruption of Global History by L. S. Stavrianos; the Times Concise Atlas of World History by Geoffrey Darraclough; the Modern World-System by Immanuel Wallerstein; the New Cambridge Modern History etc. However, there are few works on how to use the views of global history to study the history of China society, especially in its modem times. In my opinion, we can gain something fresh from the world integer to china, although the experts on Chinese history had substantial production after studied and discussed on itself or only from the inner to the outer. It is good for us to grasp the pulse of the era and follow the tide in the currents of the whole world to be integration.In 18ths the double-member revolution (die industrial revolution and the Occident bourgeois world revolution) took place in western because of the bi-directional movement of productivity and communication. It changed the world communication, rebuilt the capitalism world system. Never in the world history has there taken place so titanic an alteration. At the same time the world offered China communicative opportunity and put up an impersonal and calm attitude to Chinese culture, which were propitious for china to communicate with the world actively. It was the historic choice. If the rulers of Qing Dynasty had accepted it and communicated with the outer world China could have improved the influence of traditional order of Chinese and foreign, held the status of surplus in the trade with the west and maken an interlocution with the west. But they implemented the policies of closing the country to international intercourse and lost the opportunity. The world expedited steps to China and compelled China as an appendage of capitalism world system.The theory of communication from materialist conception of history is the basic theory of the paper. It is a adventurous sample that we introduce this theory to the Chinese history study. Mr. Wu yu-jin discussed the connections between the world communication and the world history in the volume of Foreign History of the Encyclopedia of China. In our county, there are few works on this problem. However, my paper benefited a lot both on theories and method from Reexamination of the Modern World as a Whole by Mr. Xia Cheng and Communication and the World History Evolution by Mr. Chen Xiong-zhang. And while studying the history of China during modem times, I try to find out the movements of the world history and Chinese history. It is a pity that my knowledge about world history and Chinese history are very limited. There must be many mistakes and shortages in my paper. Give me some directions and criticisms after reading please.
