This thesis consists of two parts.Part One discusses Wentingyun抯 YueFu Poetry. The Themes of Wentingyun抯 YueFu Poetries can be classified into the poetly of chanting history~ describing the world of women, frontier poetry, farming poetry, lOve poetry in a flowery style and poetry striving to be immortal. The style of YueFu Poetry can be divided into three kinds. The first kind is in gaudy colors; the second is magnificent; the third is straightforward and simple. In brief, the language of Wentingyun抯 YueFu Poetry is gorgeous and graceful. The iniago of his YueFu poetry is dense and beautiful. The discussion of his poetry usually is expressed by imago. Wentingyun paid very more important attention to the artistic beauty. His YueFu Poetry inaugurated a new kind of poetry style.Part Two discusses Wentingyun抯 metrical Poetry. His metrical poetry can be classified into five kinds. The first kind is the poetry of chanting history and its style is powerful, vigorous, solemn and desolate. The second kind includes lyric poetry on the journey, poetry of presenting each other, poetry of asking for recommendation and the style is fresh and elegant. The third is love poetry. His love poetry paid more attention to the satisfaction of sense organs. The style is gorgeous with characters of a dissipater. The fourth is poetry of chanting things. He often neglected the concrete bodies of things and described things alike in spirits. He emphasized expressing his particular emotions. In his metrical poetry, Wentingyun tried to achieve antithesis, and he was good at finding the best turn of words and phrases. He used the literary quotations appropriately. Wentingyun pushed the metrical poetry to a new phrase and made his contributions in the history in the development of metrical poetry.
