On Humor And Kunaera's Novel

Milan Kunaera, a modern writer of high reputation and controversy, has produced a large number of novels. The author is caught up in the humor of Kunaera's novel and she sheds light on it in this thesis. As for the author, Kunaera's humor is not of narrative style, but the ontological spirits in his novel. In Kunaera's point of view, humor is of ontology, belongs to all the novels accessive to the discussion of being, and is closely related to the wisdom of novel. In this thesis, humor is argued as the ontological sprits of novel.In chapter 1, humor is dated back to the origin of humor of European novel and folk carnivalization, and the author also studies on the reason of its recession and being neglected. It is Kunaera that declares to restore the tradition of humor in novel . the emergence of relativity being its opportunity of renaissance. The author also points out that the relativity , vagueness of humor in the modern industrial society can be used to save the human life.In chapter 2, the author discovered that Kunaera's pursuit of human being starts the spirit of humor. In the first place, two approaches to humor are represented, namely vulgarity and irony,. In the second place, Kunaera's humor is metaphysical , aiming at suspecting defmiteness .deconstruct saint and putting all in paradox. The author holds the view that kunaera manages to realize three functions of humor, they are: secularizing religion, holding moral judgement back and making sex opposing politics.In chapter 3, the author points out that we have been misreading Kunaera for long, and she tries to contribute to correct them. At first, Kunaera's humor is no escape from life, but his self-conscious criticism of life. Secondly, Kunaera's humor is greatly different from traditional one and the black one, thus the uniqueness of his humor is displayed. The author discovered that Kunaera himself is trapped indilemma of extreme paradox while he dealing with the relativity of novel and doubting the definiteness of being. Kunaera firmly believes that the definition of absoluteness may lead to the death of human nature, while he seems having also been absolute by repeatedly elucidating relativity. Kunaera struggles to demonstrate us the diversity of world and no only answer, but he is also in conflict and contradiction inside. The author also tells us that Kunaera is no postmodernist for he dose not give up looking for a way out for human kind. Although he denies the definiteness. he is not a zero degree writer. For him, humor is functioned as the remedy to relieve the contradiction of absoluteness and relativity in his thoughts, and this is where his wisdom lies.
