Opportunity has become a realistic problem closely concerned by people in society at present. Studies on it are valuable theoretically and practically. Philosophers show little interesting on it in the past. Although Deng Xiaoping has advanced the scientific view on opportunity explicitly, the theoretical studies are still insufficient. In the middle and later 1990s, some scholars began to study opportunity, but achievement was inadequate, and lots of problems should be deeply discussed. The thesis tried to participate the discussion, chiefly analyzed the problems relevant to opportunity from social practice.The opportunity is benefit accidental objective condition acquired from practice for realizing specific target in special time and room. The opportunity is a basic conception not only limited in occasional categories, but also relative to people's practice. The opportunity is accidental chanciness benefit to subjects' development and advantaged casual chance, moreover, it is peculiar relationship occasionally established between subject and object in practice which benefit to achieving value and temporary social time in society.The opportunity has some feature such as objectivity, attributivity, casuality, stylishness, unbalance, selectivity, diversity, challenge, level-measure. The opportunity can be classified to some different kinds from varied aspects mainly including: social opportunity or collective opportunity and individual opportunity; integrated opportunity and partial opportunity; ordinary opportunity and special opportunity; main opportunity and mini-opportunity; occasional opportunity and perpetual opportunity; potential opportunity and realistic opportunity; simple opportunity and complex opportunity.In the sight of the system and condition of production of opportunity,inthe opportunity produces from the interaction of subject and object in social practice; from the interaction and contradiction of every subsystem and elements with social system; from the great alteration in social system; from the comprehensive intercourse and connection in society.The opportunity is important for development of society and individual. For society, the opportunity supplies peculiar beneficial environment; supplies new dynamo and springboard; provides chance for social member to arouse potential and exhibit ability and to win advantage injustice rivalry; which could promote the development of society. For individual, the opportunity can change the surroundings of fate, can mobilize and stimulate the potential in all directions, exhibiting the ability and stylish of theirs own and challenging themselves, turning ill luck to good and being blessed with a double portion of good fortune, helping individual develop greatly.How to make use of opportunity is mainly decided by the subject's quality and effect of behavior, which demands subject highly. Above of all, we must change the mind of ideologism and no-enterprisiag, transfer the habit of over-enquiry. Then, there are some concrete needs for subject. Create beneficial conditions and actively accepted challenge; enhance the integrated ability and make full use of opportunity; establish special profit view, cherish usage of opportunity. It is necessary to enhance the people's quality.At present, the opportunity and development, as well as quality, are coexisting. We should improve the significance and recognition on the opportunity.
