A Trial Discussion On The Diversion Of Designing Concept In Neoteric And Contemporary China

An unprecedented change came forth in the traditional Chinese designing concept along with the intrusion of the western capitalistic culture on a large scale. Facing the infrangible warships and terrible cannons from west countries, the neoteric scholars practically advocated the viewpoint of Learning from the Advantages of Occidentals. From then on, the revolutionaries pursued the democracy bravely and the outstanding intellects introduced the western design education theories actively... All the above done contributed a great deal to the diversion of designing concept in neoteric China. However, limited by the historic reason, the diversion of designing concept in neoteric China was far from being thoroughgoing.Since the reforming and opening to the world, the diversion of designing concept in contemporary China has entered an irreversible phase. Due to the good social system and development of marketing economy, the contemporary designing concept is being gradually matured. In another way, we should realize soberly that there are lots of problems existed in the fields of designing education and traditional handicraft succeeding, etc. How to resolve those problems will influence the orientation of designing in new century and the promotion of creative ability of Chinese people.This paper would like to set forth the diversion of designingconcept in neoteric and contemporary China, proceeding with concrete practical experiences, by means of meditation. The intention of the paper is to inspirit the contemporary designers to understand the nowadays by ancient lesson for the purpose of exploiting a new future.
