On The Relation Between The Transition Of Drawing Method And The Formation Of Oil Painting Language

The formation of western oil painting language has close relation to the evolution of drawing method. The drawing method is the outcome of drawing thinking, and its transition is a prerequisite to the transition of the artist's oil painting language. Since the Renaissance, drawing has become not only relatively independent a style of art language, but more importantly, determined the artist's way of observation and artistic language expression as well, through historical analysis and case study, the assay focus on the different periods of art history to find out a clue to the development of oil painting language by studying the evolution of drawing method, which urges us to rethink the status quo of drawing education.
