In the first part of this thesis, it reviews the history of CityCommerce Pedestrian Space, and summarizes the inherent logic relationamong these different progress stages. Wh lking is a concept, which isrelative to Automotive Movement, and a basic movement mode ofpeople's city live. Before industrialization, the link between Walkingand Commerce Space is very natural. But in modernism city, the linkhas been broken by the automotive traffc. In the post-industrializationperiod now, people tend to get back the traditional human living mode.This makes it become possibly that Walking can combine with cityCommerce Space again and will be the front field of creating new agehuman city living mode.In the second part of thesis, it set up a three-dimensional model ofCity Commerce Pedestrian Space, which depend on some mature theory.Then it talks about the tree-level of environment design and theirattributes in City Commerce Pedestrian Space design. It speciallyemphasize the impotent of the first basic function level research atp re s en t.The third part, it introduces a very important method ofenvironment design research, which was called Post OccupancyEvaluation, POE, and then lists a real POE.The last part, it detai1ed1y introduces a real project of a CityCommerce Pedestrian Space system, which has been developed by thosehaving been mentioned theories and methods.
