Daixi is located at the southeast of Pingnan County ,and Daixi Speech used in Daixi, is a vernacular of Pingnan Dialect. According to (1988), Pingnan Dialect belongs to the Houguan affiliated dialects of Mindong Dialect, while according to ,it belongs to Gutian Accent of Fuzhou Speech.This article, being composed of seven sections, gives a detailed description of the phonology of Daixi Speech such as initials, finals and tones, the syllabary, the syllabary of homophones, colloquial and literary strata and tone sandhi, and makes a tentative theoretic approach to its colloquial and literary strata as well as complex "final change"; and at the same time through comparison between the phonology of Daixi Speech and that of Guanyun, it probes into the historical thread of thought and the internal laws of the phonetic development in Daixi Speech from diachronic aspects, and through outline comparison between the "final change" of Daixi Speech and "final variation" of Fuzhou Dialect from synchronic aspects in the light of the complexity and importance of the phenomena of "final change" in Daixi Speech, this article generalizes several types and their important features of "final change".The description and analysis of the phonology of Daixi Speech may not only enrich people's knowledge about Min Dialect, but also get a deep understand of Mindong subdialect and provide necessary materials for later deliberate study of Mindong subdialect.
