The paper includes two parts of theory survey and application study mainly. Theory survey part introduces history of rational emolive behavior therapy mainly, and has analysed intension of rational emotive behavior therapy from three aspects of cognitive,emotion , behavior. Theory survey part offers the theoretical foundation for the last part of application study with supporting.According to the emphasizing of the first theory survey:" All wrong thinking way or irrational faith is crux that issues psychological obstacle and behavior problem; Rational emotive behavior therapy adopt the cognitive method to combine with behavior, especially rely mainly on the method to refute to irrational faith to help individual deal with excessive emotion reacting with logical thinking , create life and meet environment with rational philosophy. According to the theory view, the application study part makes two research. Study one: research the relation irrational faith and depressed mood . Study two: The experiment research that the rational emotive behavior therapy improves university student's depressed mood. The result are, (1) Irrational faith and depressed mood have sure to concern, not so obvious to the causality of irrational faith and depressed symptom. (2) Carried on the group guidance to depressed university student of the experiment group by rational emotive behavior therapy, its resulf indicates this treatment is effectual to them. (3) Carried on individual guidance to person who ask specific intervention with rational emotive behavior therapy, its result indicates this treatment is remarkable.
