Studies on family educational resources is the objective needs of improving parents' educational ability, promoting the healthy development of children, and carrying forward the quality education all-round. It is also an important academic subject of enriching the studies of the mental quality theory and practice, expanding the subject field of Educational Psychology. But there is lack of systematic study on the structure and functions of educational resources, and all the variables examined in the previous researches are too simple, and also it is hard to explore its developmental states and characteristics because of the absence of the tool to measure the general level of the family educational resources.In view of these problems, the targets of this research are(1) to disclose the structure of the family educational resources;(2) to compose a questionnaire for it with high credibility and validity; (3) to explore the characteristics of the family educational resources for primary school students; (4) to probe into the relationship between the family educational resources and mental quality of primary school students.The procedures are as following: Firstly, construct a theoretical structure model based on the literature review and the half open-ended and half close-ended inventory survey; Secondly, make out a initial questionnaire according to the theoretical structure model and apply it to investigation in order to obtain the positive structure and form the formal questionnaire; Lastly, survey the characteristics of educational resources for primary school students' and the relationship to their mental quality.The main conclusions of our research are as following:1. Family educational resources is a more complex structure which consists of two basic dimensions, (containing ten factors and twenty component parts). The dimension of objective resources is composed of the composition of inf luencer, the level of education, the professional composition, the economic and social status, learning conditions at home, living surroundings and of books, newspapers, and audiovisual material etc. The dimension of subjective resources are composed of the positive, neutral and negative educational factors, particularly consists of learning support, protection, learning atmosphere in family, humiliation, parenting idea, social attitude, family atmosphere, noninterference, punishment, educational belief, spoiling, warm feeling and parenting emotive etc.2. The questionnaire for the family educational resources, which is based upon the theoretic conception and the positive study, has proved to have high credibility and validity. It is very suitable as a tool to measure family educational resources.3. There exists differences in sex, the sorts of school and region in the level of objective family educational resources for primary school students. Generally, the situation isIVobviously better for male students than for female students, better for students in highlighted primary schools than for those in ordinary primary schools, better for primary school students from the town than those from the countryside.4. There is no sexual difference in the level of subjective family educational resources for primary school students except that the support on the academic study to male students is lower than to female students. Otherwise there exist school-sort differences and regional differences in the level of subjective family educational resources for primary school students. In general, situation of students in highlighted primary schools is obviously better than that of students in ordinary primary schools; situation of primary school students from the town is better than that of those from the countryside.5. The objective family educational resources is obviously relevant to the subjective family, educational resources. The composition of influencer, the level of education, living surroundings and learning conditions at home are all affect the subjective family educational resources...
