This essay explores the role of the rural laborers and takes them as an important factor for the origin of capitalism in later Medieval England. Based on the foreign research and study in this field, it analyzes the different roles of the rural laborers in different Medieval periods, and mainly focuses on clarifying the development of the rural labor force and its influence on the break-down of feudalism and the origin of capitalism. The present essay consists of four parts.Part one shows the recent achievement of studying the origin of capitalism, including the arguments x the schools and the intention of this essay.Part two explores the reason why the rural labor force appeared in Medieval England by analyzing the lack of land and the requirement of the manor.Part three begins with an analysis of the development of labor force , and deeply delves into its characteristics and the formation of the labor force market. As a result, those make an preparation for the origin of capitalism.The last part probes the relation between the rural labor force and origin of capitalism in later Medieval England: the enclosure movements provided more laborers who lost their land, and in order to making a living they had to work on the capitalistic farm and for the rural industries. Therefore, the rural labor force is the prerequisite for the origin of capitalism.
