In Chinese literary criticism, interpretation on Quyuan's works, with an obvious trend of study way, provides an effective case for studying Chinese poetic interpretation's theory connotation and stydy say's changes.It is a special age in the end of Qing Dynasty and at the beginning of Republic of China for the interpretation of Qu Yuan works, when all kinds of western learning poured into the Orient, and Chinese and western leanings influenced each other deeply. This age gave birth to many great masters who absorb western critical mode of thinking and meanwhile are versed with Chinese traditional criticism, such as Liu Shipei, Liang Qichao, Wang Guowei, Lu Xun. It is just them who could interpret Qu Yuan's works more effectively and profoundly by combining two kinds of learning and mode of thinking. From On the Differences of South and North Literature by Liu Shipei, criticism of Qu Yuan literature began to get rid of the restrictions of traditional criticism of Confucian classics. And it is salient that the theory of Imagination and Emotion of Wang Guowei and Liang Qichao, the penetrating insights in Moluoshilishuo by Lu Xun all showed new perspectives influenced by the special cultural and academic trend of thought in this era. And then The mechanism of interpretation Qu Yuan's works as a whole came into being, which synthesized historical and cultural environment, attitude of creation of poet, artistic mould and characteristics of thinking. As the result, the abundant emotion and fantastic imagination in Qu Yuan's works that could not be revealed by traditional study of Qu Yuan literature gained more sufficient expatiation and more reasonable definitionThe Criticisms on Quyuan'sworks in this periods is a continuous writing of the long-history traditoinal one. With a thorough and modern view of both western and Chinese, it is beyond the traditonal criticism of Quyuan's works. It is viewed in this paper that their criticisms' thinking features and study methods of this period have broadened the classic theory vision and have made an example for the modern transformation of Chinese literary criticism. Study on such a subjuct would be rather significant. |
