Word-by-Word Annotations To The Analects

This thesis is on word-by-word annotation and some subjects of the word-by-word annotation to the Analects. It includes two parts. The first part is the preface. In this part, we confine the concept of word-by-word annotation. Word-by-word annotation is standard modern Chinese annotation to every word of the glossary of some pre-Qin dynasty classics. Then it reviews the history and present situation of word-by-word annotation. After that, it discusses the necessity and the probability of word-by-word annotation. It also dwells on the principles and ways of the word-by-word annotation to the Analects. Finally it discusses some difficulties in the annotating and trys to find their solutions. The second part is the main body of the thesis, in which it gives detailed notes to every word of the Analects. Here what we see is only part of the whole word-by-word annotation of the Analects, which can be seen as a model of it .The whole thesis can be found in the attached soft disc.
