On The Complex Sentences In Xingshi Yinyuan Zhuan

The research on the complex sentences in Modern Chinese is almost vacant in the grammar research of Chinese.The findings are only talked about in a few papers and few parts of some works.The systematic works and papers about the theory haven't been seen so far.Based on the theory of trichotomy of complex sentence put forward by grammarian Xing Fuyi, the thesis makes a comprehensive description and analysis about the complex sentences with connectives in Xingshi Ymyuan Zhuan,and finds out their features.In addition,the author tries to make a foundation for further researches on the complex sentences in Xingshi Ymyuan Zhuan and Modern Chinese.During the course of writing, the connectives are observed and studied carefully, the connectives with same or similar meaning and function are put into the same king to considerate, the complex sentence joined by means of specific connective is called the pattern of complex sentence.The contents of this thesis are arranged as follows: in the introduction, the author > time of writing > main contents and important value of researching of Xingshi Ymyuan Zhuan are concisely explained. In chapter one, the theory of complex sentence and the theory of trichotomy of complex sentence are expounded.Chapter two, the main part of this thesis, is failed into three sections in which three kinds of complex sentences are discussed. In section one, the author makes overall researches on the complex sentences with broad relationship of cause and effect between clauses ,in section two, the author chooses some complex sentences with some characteristics as study objects among the complex sentences with broad relationship of coordination between clauses,in section three, the author also makes overall researches on the complex sentences with broad relationship of turning between clauses.in chapter three,the author draws a conclusion as follows: the complex sentences in Xingshi Ymyuan Zhuan have already been fairly systematic perfect and mature,the amount of typical complex sentences is huge,all kinds of complex sentences in Contemporary Chinese have already appeared,the function ofconnectives is regular,a specific connective only represents a sort of relationship,the patterns of complex sentences are also regular,every kind of complex sentences has a variety of patterns to meet all kinds of needs.But at the same time we can also see some characteristics of times and traits of developing in the complex sentences such as the appearing frequency of the connectives with single syllable and the complex sentences joined only by a single connective is very high,sometimes the patterns of complex sentences are not regular ,the patterns with same or similar meaning and function are often co-existing.In a word the complex sentences in Xingshi Ymyuan Zhuan is developing to the direction of system> abundance and perfectness,and all this is in accordance with the requirements of language development.
