The Study Of Huang Zhen's Thought Of Historical Science

Huang Zhen was one of the representative figure of Song Confucianists . Except carrying on and developing Chu His's theory, he made a great dual of outstanding achievements on the Study of Confucian classics, historical science and textual research. This article was specially written on his thought of historical science.First, Huang Zhen's historical sense included heavenly principles to which he attributed the historical prosperity and decline; attaching importance to the ways things were going in the course of history; paying attention to the intention's affection which to govern and benefit the people in the history. Second, when he compiled the historical book, Huang Zhen discriminated orthodox ideas of the Chinese feudal dynasties, cited loyalty, filial piety, chastity and faithfulness, praised highly moral concepts. At last, he used the method of textual research in studying history and elucidated argumentation.According Huang Zhen's historical thought we can see an evident characteristic that was the Confucian School of idealist philosophy in the Song Dynasty influenced the study of history.
