Study On The Polysyllables Of Shuo Yuan

Some scholars have done many works on the study of ancient times' Chinese polysyllable. But most of them concentrated on Xian Qin (before the Qin Dynasty) . As we see, some studies in special book and special subject of the Han Dynasty are not very balance in scale and range, both in depth and scope need further excavate and develop. The purpose of this paper is to examine the polysyllables of Shuo Yuan through the special subject study. This study not only reflects the fact of the Chinese polysyllable in the Early Han Dynasty, but also benefits the comprehension of Shuo Yuan and the compiling of A Large Chinese Dictionary. We improved the research method: Separate polysyllabic combinations and choose polysyllables from them. This paper separated 2084 polysyllables from 100 thousands language sources. After studying thoroughly, this paper reflects every aspect of the polysyllables in Shuo Yuan.
