| The present thesis is a systematic study of the translation of adverbial clauses in international business contracts, which aims to achieve a better understanding of business contracts both in ESP teaching and business dealing. The thesis first describes the general theories and criteria for translation, and those specific for the translation of international business contracts, which are theoretical guidelines for the whole thesis.Secondly, considering the complicated logic relations of adverbial clauses, I discuss about the logic thinking that is very important in translation, and the problems that often occur in this concern. To make it clear is to make preparation for the practical operations. Then, for the most important part of the thesis-the specific analysis of the translation of adverbial clauses in international business contracts, I discuss from four categories and their sub-categories with the support of many examples so as to exemplify the various situations that may occur in business contracts. As a necessary component part in international business, the contracts play a very important role. I hope this thesis can give us some insight into this field. |
