In the teaching Chinese as a foreign language, the adverb is not only important but also difficult. Especially likes "Cai, Jiu, Zai" and so on, because they have the strong subjectivity, the high frequency of use , many different and complicated significances, so it is not an easy matter that let the foreign students grasp these adverb's each significance and usage comprehensively and accurately. This article needs to discuss the adverb "Dao " is such a word, but formerly we lacked systematical and comprehensive research on it. In view of this, the paper in the massive inspections language fact foundation, proposed that " Dao " is a contrast modal auxiliary adverb, also inspected the distribution of "Dao " from the different angle, then discussed its subjectivity and the textual association function from the functional linguistics angle and carried on the contrast with near-synonymous adverbs. In the end, we discussed the foreign students' several questions which appeared frequently during their learning Chinese combining with deviant analysis and proposed my own consideration and suggestion. The paper diligently unifies Chinese main body research and the teaching Chinese as a foreign language. We hope to provide some reference to the teachers who are engaged in the teaching Chinese as a foreign language and enhance language research's instruction significance and practical value.
