A Practice Report On Escort Interpreting For The Factory Inspection On A Dickies OEM Factory

With the further deepening of China's reform and opening up,the strengthening of international cooperation and the reduction of labor cost,China has attracted many multinational companies to set up factories and seek cooperation.In order to make the conditions of factories meet certain requirements,multinational companies usually entrust a third party to conduct a rigorous inspection of the factories to ensure the stability and durability of the cooperation.In this interpreting task,the author accompanies the customer to inspect the factory as an interpreter.In this report,based on the interpretation materials and texts relating to technical interpretation in this escort interpreting practice,the author analyzes the deficiencies and the reasons of this process,and summarizes the skills which should be improved in the future interpreting practice.This interpretation practice report mainly talks about the advance preparation of escort interpretation and puts forward the problems and challenges which the author encountered in the process of interpretation.Besides,this report also expounds on the listening comprehension for the source language and carries out a detailed analysis of the output and errors of the target language.Finally,the author also concludes and reflects on the interpretation practice,proposing suggestions on improving related skills from different aspects in order to make continuous progress in future interpretation activities.The author hopes that this practice report could provide some reference and inspiration for other interpreters,and it will be of great significance for futureinterpretation.
