Currently China is in the process of changing from post-modern society to modern society, from post-industry society to industry society and from political society to citizen society. In this course China has obtained the achievement that the whole world focus attention and faces the problems that allow of no neglect simultaneously. The most worthy content is its critical spirit in critical theories of mass culture of Frankfurt school that has valuable use to examine ourselves all kinds of negative phenomena during the modern progress and boycott inflation of thing wants and prevalence of money worship. But on the other hand, critical theories of mass culture of Frankfurt school have its particular context that will have direct influence on our studying and using critical theories of mass culture of Frankfurt school. Therefore, it's necessary that we have analyzed critical theories of mass culture of Frankfurt school and mass culture from the angle of context.The thesis totally contains four chapters. Chapter one is context problem of research and application of western theories resources. This chapter is put forward to on base of the preface. When they apply it at across culture, non-Hesperian intellect is ready to sink into mistake area of using theories from western in brief. Therefore, we should contextualize the western theories in own native history and social milieu to keep it from becoming a kind of widespread doctrine words. Chapter two is on contextual view on critical theories of mass culture of Frankfurt school. In section one introduce critical theories of mass culture of Frankfurt school briefly. Context of production and application on critical theories of mass culture of Frankfurt school are thrown light on from social history context and thought culture resources in section two and section three. In chapter three mass culture in Chinese context is analyzed from production context and function of enlightening. In chapterfour on basis of analysis of this case we think over the causes that result in non-context study so as to find a way of thinking for reasonable reuse of critical theories of mass culture of Frankfurt school in Chinese context.
