Mezzo-soprano is a special voice part which can show the rich, beautiful, pure and changeable tone-color and timber. The correct division of voice parts has a direct effect on a music student in her voice study and future career in singing.Starting from the practical point of view, the first part of the article deals with the definition of the mezzo-soprano. Two definitions are offered here. First is the definition based on the voice status of the singers; second is the definition based on the examination of art voice doctor. The training of tone-color and voice range of the mezzo-soprano is more likely to result in the contradiction between them. On one hand, when the low note emphasizes the simple and vigorous and solid voice color and timbre, the high note will encounter difficulty and even result in voice break. On the other hand, when we have the beautiful and relaxed high note, the simple and vigorous and rich tone- color and timbre of the low note disappears. The second part of the article mainly discuss the training of the unity of register of mezzo-soprano. Six ways are employed to illustrate the solution to the register unity problem in mezzo-soprano. Section One to section Five discuss the training of the register unity in mezzo-soprano based on pure skill training. However, the command of human voice musical instrument has its specialties because it can not be seen and touched and is too abstract. Therefore, it is vital to form a correct voice visual conception in our mind to solve the problem in mezzo-soprano training in the article of section Six.
