In the new period( 1979-1999) of Chinese literature history, Latin-American Magic-Realism, as one of the literary genres from the Third World, has exerted an all-round and far-reaching influence on Chinese literature for the first time. It left a deep impression on the Chinese literary stage in the 1980's, later on, though fading away, still influencing the Chinese writers all the times. There have been lots of comments on the relationship between Latin-American Magic-Realism and Chinese literature in the past, but most of them are not very comprehensive and are mainly focused on the specific influence studies or parallel studies. This paper is trying to make a comprehensive and systematic study on the following subjects: the development history of Latin-American Magic-Realism and its acceptance in China; the relationship of Latin-American Magic-Realism and Chinese literature in the new period.By studying and discussing the relationship between Magic-Realism, "Root-Seeking" writings, folk writings and family history writings, we can see that the Latin-American Magic-Realism has met not only the needs of Chinese writers who wish to reexamine the national culture, but also their requirements for artistic creation. During this period, Chinese literature broke away from the fetter of social and political discourses through a series of writing practices and shifted its discourse space to history and culture. Furthermore the Chinese writers began to pay attention to and contemplate the Human being itself. Step by step they completed the transform of discourse space and narrative way of Chinese literature in the new period, which shows their efforts to reconstruct the Chinese literature in a cultural-free time by studying and creating. In terms of literature, the acceptance of Magic-Realism in China, with "One Hundred Years of Solitude " as representative, is the transform of literary subject and the liberation of literary expressing way of Chinese literature in the new period. In terms of social culture, it is also a self-examination and self-identification process of Chinese people in the contemporary world cultural background.
