Root-seeking literature was one of the most important literature ideological trends of Chinese contemporary literature in the New Period. In the process of adopting foreign current of literacy thoughts, many writers expressed that Latin American Magic-realism had left a deep impression on their works, they were mainly influenced by "One Hundred Years of Solitude" written by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It was very important for Root-seeking literature in 1985, in which Han Shaogong, Zhaxidawa, Mo Yan made their name for themselves in the history of Chinese contemporary literature. This thesis is from the aspect of comparative skill to discuss those works representing Magic-Realism which were published in 1985. And then, it explains the feature of the Root-seeking literature in learning Magic-realism origin from Latin America, and of course, the revelation or what we got from it.The first chapter mainly introduces the social and cultural background of Root-seeking literature, the dilemma that the literature has to confront with, and how had Root-seeking literature announced its opinion, namely, the cultural intention and characteristics of art.The second chapter is from the process of introduction and acceptance into Chinese literature, to explain those reasons for misunderstanding the Magic-realism at that time. By analyzing the characteristics of seeking root, mystery and magic in the above writers' works respectively, to discuss those novels representing the features of Magic-realism and then we know that there was only a point could accord with the novel "One Hundred Years of Solitude".The third chapter mainly discusses or rethinks what revelation the Root-seeking novels have given us after the dialogue between these two literature ideological trends. But why the development of the former has weakened while the latter is still making its name in the world literature? Whereas both Root-seeking and Latin American Magic-realism literature used the same methods to solve some problems when they met the traditional culture of their own.
