Chang Chih-tung And Gui-mao School System

The gui-mao school system designed by Chang chih-tung was born in 1904 and that represented the beginning of preliminary educational modernization of China. Chang chih-tung and gui-mao school system are regarded as researching object from beginning to end and analyzed in multiple visual aspects for internal integration between them in thesis.This thesis consists of introductory remarks and main text ,and the main text includes five parts. The first part discusses Chang chih-tung and the background of gui-mao school system. The historical status of Chang and background of the school system are distinct by expounding in various visual aspects, for example, Chang's knowing to the hard situation of education in late Qing dynasty, introduction of the western countries school system concept, Chang's action to reform Chinese traditional education, the ideological course of development of gui-mao school system and the model of school system reform in late Qing dynasty. The second part and the third part tell the influence to gui-mao school system by Chang's thoughts, ethics education, intellective education and physical education thought. The fourth part tells the establishment of gui-mao school system's general educational system, teacher-training educational system, industry and commerce educational system and educational administration system. The last part is the summary. Chang chih-tung's important contribution to the establishment of gui-mao school system and the school system's historical position are revealed by expounding in different visual aspects.
