This thesis focused on the poetry of ZhuXiang, analysed its basic standpoint and pursuit. Through a pure poet's peculiar psychological condition, explored how he opened the world of his poetry and realized the opinions of his literature, used the new poem system which set up by the revived old poem words to recover the ideal conformation of the classic poetry, and how he delt with the narration and lyric. His poems went to a dilemma, a thin situation appeared at the back of enthusiasm. His success is his defect, which is his inevitable limitation. The first part of the thesis mainly introduced the literary opinions of ZhuXiang, penetrated the ideal belief of his life and literature, knew how he could build his world of poetry enthusiastically and obstinately. These problems are divided into five parts: the responsibility of literature and the patriotism; the trip of literature that is filled with the difficulties; the beauty and utilization of the poetry; the technologization of the poem's form; to reach modernization through recovering the tradition and chasing the foreign culture. The second part demonstrated the basis of his pursuit and the creation of the poem from three angles: "the Chinese classic lyric poems"; "the ancient ballad"; "the predicament of sonnet". He personally assayed how the poem transmitted from old to new, he was bewitched in the dream of the ancient and folksy atmosphere, and he walked difficultly at the border of the westernization. His writing showed the collision of the culture, his success and failure, his harmony and contradiction. The third part analysed his self-restrained lyric style from "the succession of narration" and "the space of the lyric", how the style expressed his inner world and built a lyric world without passion, and showed the transition from bright to shady, from shallow to deep, from outside to inside, from narrative to lyric. The fourth part emphasized the paradox in his life and his poems. The paradox between his character and his style of the poems are revealed in his poetry.
