We examine the relationship between culture and visual illusion issue in this study from a cross-culture perspective. Different from previous research, this paper wants to emphasize the importance of culture influence visual illusion in the study of The Research on Illusion in Culture. In this study, we select Han, Hui and Tibetan students, they come from city, countryside and grass ground, and they are three and five grade in primary school and two grade in middle school and in complete school. We measure visual illusion by Ma Mouchao' s multistage evaluation method. In what follows, we want to introduce the study.There are six parts in this paper. We start with a brief introduction to come back the history of visual illusion and its new development. Then we propose a social culture-ecology theory to testify the influence about culture to visual illusion. An additional discussion of applied of social culture-ecology theory is also provided. We end the study with the conclusion visual illusion is influenced by culture.We find in our research that ethnic, residential circumstance , grade ,sex and cognitive style are important factors to influence illusion. Based on these findings, we may conclude some useful implications obtained from this study include follows.1) Illusion is an average perceptive phenomenon, it is ordinary in different culture. Muller-Lyer illusion is most obvious in these illusions.2 ) Illusion is different in different culture, ethnic and residential circumstance are important factors.3 ) Illusion has a trend that grade is increasing and illusion is descending, the higher grade the little illusion.4) Cognitive style is different with ethnic, residential circumstance ami grade. Students which are Tibetan, live in grass ground and low grade are FID, others are Han and Hui ,live in city or countryside and high grade are FD.5) Cognitive style influence illusion. Students which are FID have little illusion, and others which are FD have many illusion.The results of this research indicate that illusion make people adapt nature in different residential circumstance. But illusion is descending with age increasing, it is very important to everybody know the essence of nature. Therefore, we need diminish negative influence by learning some relation knowledge of angle and so on.
