In recent years,China's real estate market has developed rapidly,and the rising prices of housing affect Chinese people's daily life.Research shows that there is a bidirectional causal relationship between population mobility and the development of real estate market.Population mobility enlarges people's demand for housing and positively promotes the rise of housing prices.However,when housing prices rise to a certain high level,it has a restraining effect on population mobility.When migrants realize that settling in a city is a hopeless anticipation,they will choose not to move into the city.That is to say,migrants see the issue of mobility from a future perspective,and they are committed to the pursuit of future stability.Housing is the guarantee of future stability.However,since researchers introduced mobility into psychological research and conceptualized it as residential mobility,psychological researches on residential mobility have mostly focused on the effects of experience of residential mobility on individual's mind and behavior.In fact,the prospect of residential mobility may play a more important role in decision-making of individuals'daily life.Based on this,six studies were designed to explore the relationship and difference between experience of residential mobility and prospect of residential mobility,as well as the effects and psychological mechanism of prospect of residential mobilityIn Study 1,the author took qualitative interviews to explore the effects of the experience and prospect of residential mobility on individual' s feelings and behaviors.Results showed that Chinese people valued buying a house and settling down,the number of residential moves in the past had little impact on the current state of their life.The possibility of buying a house and settling down in the city where they work,that is,whether he would relocate in the future,had great impact on their emotion and behaviors.Based on this,study 1 take two different kinds of residential mobility from the true life:experience of residential mobility and prospect of residential mobility.In Study 2,the author conducted a survey study,based on subjective well-being,to find the effects and its psychological mechanism of the experience and prospect of residential mobility.Results showed that experience of residential mobility was not significantly correlated with subjective well-being,and prospect of residential mobility negatively correlated with subjective well-being significantly.In addition,Perceived control played a mediating role between the prospect of residential mobility and subjective well-being.The prospect of residential mobility reduce the subjective well-being by weaken the perceived controlling.In Study 3,the author selected samples from nationwide with better ecological validity to explore the internal relation and differences between experience of residential mobility and prospect of residential mobility.And push their effects from emotional level to behavioral level.Results showed that prospect of residential mobility had stronger prediction on individual's subjective well-being and health behaviors than experience of residential mobility.Prospect of residential mobility mediated the effects of experience of residential mobility on subjective well-being and health behaviors.That is to say,experience of residential mobility took an effect through prospect of residential mobility.Same as study 2,perceived control mediated of the relation between prospect of residential mobility and subjective well-being as well as health behaviors.The theoretical model of prospect of residential mobility based on perceived control was established.In Study 4,the author conducted an experimental study to further explore the causal relation between experience of residential mobility and prospect of residential mobility based on previous three studies.In order to better distinguish the experience and the prospect of residential mobility,2 sub-studies were designed in study 4.Results showed that the prime of experience of residential mobility had no significant effect on individual's subjective well-being,while the prime of prospect of residential mobility had significantly reduced individual's subjective well-being.And the author found that the prime of experience of residential mobility led to varied results of subjective well-being and health behaviors when the current and future mobility sates is different.Study 4 further verified the causal relationship between prospect of residential mobility and individual' s mind and behavior.In Study 5,the author conducted the mediate variable manipulated paradigm to verify the psychological mechanism of prospect of residential mobility.Study 5 included 2 sub-studies,respectively verifying the perceived control theoretical model from emotional level and behavior level.Results showed that enhancing individual's perceived control level under future mobility conditions would significantly enhance their subjective well-being and increase their health behaviors.Results of Study 5 indicated enhanced perceived control could effectively counteract the negative effects of the future mobility,perceived control is the inherent psychological mechanism of prospect of residential mobility work.In Study 6,the author conducted an experimental manipulation to verify the holistic theoretical model of the prospect of residential mobility,using the writing task to manipulated prospect of residential mobility,and then measure the dependent variables,mediating variables and moderating variables.Results showed that prospect of residential mobility significantly reduced individual's subjective well-being level,and reduced their health behaviors.Perceived control mediated of the relation between prospect of residential mobility and subjective well-being as well as health behaviors,the prospect of residential mobility reduced individual's subjective well-being and health behaviors by weaken individual's perceived control.The mediating effect of perceived control between prospect of residential mobility and subjective well-being/health behaviors was moderated by perceived adequacy of resources.Perceived adequacy of resources moderated the effect of prospect of residential mobility on perceived control.The moderated mediation model was established.The mediating effect of perceived control was significantly stronger among people with relatively scare resources than that among people with relatively sufficient resources.In conclusion,this research has important theoretical and practical significance.First,based on the time perspective,this study divides residential mobility into experience of residential mobility and prospect of residential mobility,prospect of residential mobility had stronger prediction on individual's mind and behavior than experience of residential mobility,experience of residential mobility took an effect through prospect of residential mobility.This study also explored the effects of prospect of residential mobility and its psychological mechanism as well as boundary conditions,established the theoretical model of perceived control,prospect of residential mobility took effects on individual's mind and behavior through perceived control,perceived adequacy of resources moderated the effect of prospect of residential mobility on perceived control.This research has important theoretical contribution to the study of residential mobility and provides a new research direction and interpretation framework for future research.Second,based on previous studies,this research clarified that the prospect of residential mobility is the key factor which affects people's emotions,behaviors,and even the social norm in the residential mobility.This helps to explain the changing trends and causes of population mobility.It can provide interventions to enhance the subjective well-being of the mobility population,offer ideas and basis for the introduction of talents in cities.
