As unique and absolutely different writers in Chinese modern literary history, Zhang Ailing and Lu Xun have much resemblance in their spiritual and artistic level. Both worlds which they described emerge the similar particularity of cold: cool relation tactic, cold atmosphere in their works and tragic story and figures. The emerged cold features not only express subjectively artistic tactic but also express their spiritual worlds. The spiritual worlds consist of two aspects: emotional state and spiritual home. If we use one word to conclude the emotional state of Zhang Ailing and Lu Xun, we will choose "loneliness". The cause of loneliness is closely related with their life experiences. At the same time, writer's cultural accumulation, emotional experience and subjective choice also result in dense loneliness. The loneliness is especially conveyed in their prose. The spiritual home of Zhang Ailing and Lu Xun is nihility, although they convey nihility in different way. Nihility is manifested in their works. As to Zhang Ailing, all of her works manifest nihility. As to Lu Xun, his feeling of nihility is mainly manifested in his "WILD GRASS" and "NEW ADAPTATION OF STORY". Loneliness and nihility as different aspect in writer's spiritual world all manifest their modern feature. The modern feather is related with west modernism. Meanwhile, the modern feather is a little from west modernism. So we can call it as "Chinese Modernism".Certainly, Zhang Ailing's spiritual world isn't completely similar to Lu Xun's. The difference exists in their works. It is the difference of their works that manifest theirdifferent spiritual worlds.
