Aesthetic Perspective Of Qu Yuan's Fu

Qu Yuan achieved great success in the history of Chinese literature at the cost of his life. The great success lay in his creation of Qu fu.There is no doubt that Qu Yuan has become an everlasting monument in the history of Chinese literature. Qu fu have great value in art, containing plentiful contents and values in aesthetics, being worthy of studying and researching which are what we will do in this article. Clearly speaking, we want to make an apprehensive and profound studying of Qufu in the perspective of aesthetics.The introduction first done talks briefly the directing idea of this article. The concluding remarks generalize the thinking of whole thesis and shows the points which deserve consulting.Except for the introduction and conclusion, the thesis consists of four parts.The first part analyzes the reasons for the creation of Qu fu from the aspects of the witch culture and Qu Yuan's miserable experience. We demonstrate them in the way of follows: First, the witch culture prevailed in southern Chu area, which had some internal connections with the creation of romantic works, which could stimulate the creation of romantic works in Chu area. The correspondence between them lay in the facts that both of them used the image thinking form, needed imagination and fabrication, that both of them implied the spirits for freedom and were full of enthusiasm and fantasy. Secondly, Qu Yuan lived in a turbulent society and suffered greatly spiritual depression. He couldn't help expressing the "internal cry". Consequently, the works were born. Here, we also use the method of "comparing demonstration".In the second part, through making an explanation of Qu fu in text level, we can find the beauty of Qu fu in text level. Qu fu are rich and colourful in aesthetics and in this part we can appreciate them from two aspects.The aspect of language. For one thing, the glossary of Qu fu is rich, graceful and charming. Secondly, they are versatile of rhetoric including metaphor, evocation, hyperbole, antithesis, repeating and etc. Third, the most outstanding character of the sentences of Qufu is to marry regulated sentences with irregularsentences in graceful disorder. Finally, I'll discuss some of Qu fit's aesthetic characters in rhythm and rhyme scheme.Artistic images and artistic states. First, I'll tell my understanding to artistic images and artistic states, and then appreciate Qu fit from this visual angle. In Qu fit, lots of colorful and charming artistic images and artistic states are contained, which shine upon each other very well. From them, we can see the splendid artistic standards of Qu fu.The third part is to make an aesthetic perspective to Qu fit, so we can explore the deep beauty in Qu fu. A discussion will be made in two aspects.What I talk first is which types of beauty are embraced in the works. They mainly include sublime beauty, sorrowful beauty, solemn-stirring beauty, graceful beauty, magnificent beauty, portrait beauty, natural beauty and etc. As far as sublime beauty is concerned, my theory mainly comes from Longinus' "On the Sublime", by which I conclude that Qu fit is sublime as well as the echo of Qu Yuan's soul. Sorrowful beauty and solemn-stirring beauty are mainly embodied in Qu Yuan's Lisao and Jiuzhang. Graceful beauty and magnificent beauty are equal to "feminine beauty " and "masculine beauty " in Chinese traditional aesthetics. The former is mainly in Jiuge, the latter, Guoshang. Portrait beauty is not only shown in the poet image, but in the beauties in the works. Natural beauty is mainly perceived in the description of the natural landscapes in Chu area.With respect to aesthetic inclination, taking the singular as beauty is the main character of Qu fit, which we can see directly from Qu fit and the later comments on Qu fit have also proved it. The reasons that Qu Yuan took the singular as beauty might be follows: the influence of the witch culture in Chu area; the effect of the wonderful and marvellous natural scenery of Ghu area; the unique character and personality...
